Testimonials

Lauren Henry
Olympic, World and European Champion rower
"Jack is a wonderful cox and coach and a great human as well! He has an outstanding ability to see and feel how to make boats go faster. I have been lucky enough to have some technical input from Jack in the winter months when he coaches and it’s clear that he definitely knows his stuff and also how to communicate that with athletes effectively."

Richard Hull
CEO and Performance Director of Oxford University Boat Club; coach at Marlow Rowing Club
"Jack possesses a wealth of practical knowledge and experience on coxing, spanning from novice to elite levels. He has the rare and estimable ability to communicate this thoughtfully and clearly to coaches and coxswains alike. We benefited enormously from his workshop with us - practical advice to help our athletes succeed and boats go faster!"

Charlie Watkins
U19 World Medallist and National Schools' Regatta Winner
"Without hesitation, Jack has been the single biggest driver in my trajectory as a cox. Starting out with Jack, his process was very organic: he’d review my recordings, isolate the fix, apply actionable feedback, and ensure changes were made that had a tangible impact. Beyond that process, what I valued most was his sheer knowledge. I believe a deep understanding of the rowing stroke is the single most important thing to improve, and Jack teaches it at the highest level.”

"Jack Tottem knows how to win some of rowing's biggest races.
He steered Oxford to victory in the 2022 Boat Race, and now the 24-year-old from Monmouth is guiding Great Britain's women's eight at the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai."
